1993 Leaf is a 550-card set released in three series of 220, 220, and 110 cards, respectively. The first two series of cards were distributed in 14-card foil packs, jumbo packs and magazine packs. The third series, known officially as "Leaf Update," was Hobby only and distributed only in 14-card wax packs. In addition, Leaf announced a production run of only 6250 12-box cases of Leaf Update.
Rookie Cards in this set include J.T. Snow. White Sox slugger (and at that time, Leaf pitch-man) Frank Thomas signed 3500 cards, which were randomly seeded into Update packs. In addition, a special card commemorating Dave Winfield's 3000th base hit was also seeded into Update packs.
